FTR/Transmission Analyst

FTR/Transmission/Congestion Analyst

Responsibilities: 

  • Support speculative FTR trading book across most North American ISOs (PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, NYISO)
  • Fundamental research and analysis of the power market with a focus on congestion trading
  • Power system simulation/modeling
  • Contribute to analytical code base through enhancement of existing framework or design of new tools
  • Actively participate in strategy development and portfolio management process
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset 

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a technical role 
  • Exposure to power engineering, commodities trading, or a role requiring fundamental analysis and modeling of both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience with Production Cost Models (DAYZER, PROMOD, UPLAN, PLEXOS, PowerWorld OPF) a plus
  • Significant work in Python, ideally along with experience in software design or large projects/libraries

Education: 

Technical degree or significant coursework in quantitative fields and/or analytics such as, but not limited to, Engineering, (Applied) Math, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Computer Science, or Economics
